The Raw Fear and Sheer Anxiety of One Gameplay Aspect Hidetaka Miyazaki Wrote into Elden Ring Doesn’t Even Involve Boss Fights

Hidetaka Miyazaki is the master of making players fear death in his games and does that not just by incorporating difficult bosses in the game but in many other ways as well. He is great at keeping you at the edge of your seats at all times, even when you are just traversing the world.

This gameplay mechanic in Elden Ring might appear to be just another path, but it is the perpetuator of raw fear and sheer anxiety once it sucks you in. Miyazaki has truly managed to create a game that not only has difficult boss fights but is also complicated and detailed in its world-building, giving you an almost realistic feel while exploring the map.

This Gameplay Mechanic In Elden Ring Is The Harbinger of Anxiety

Traversing on a torrent allows players to navigate through the map of Elden Ring fairly easily, but it can also get out of hand pretty quickly, especially if you decide to descend down the cliffs via the tombstone stairs that are strategically placed to make the journey a little challenging.

It is extremely easy to fall of the tombstone and die with just one misstep, losing all your runes, which is quite frustrating. This proves that Miyazaki went through great pains to even make some of the environmental aspects of the game dominating and challenging.

This aspect is one of the most fun and challenging since it makes travelling less monotonous. It is always nice to be faced with challenges in your way to keep you hooked rather than aimlessly walking towards a desired location by just holding up your joystick.

The world of Elden Ring is detailed to the core and offers a mythical yet realistic experience to players by making many aspects of the world interactive.

Elden Ring is known for some of the most challenging boss fights, but this aspect of the game often overshadows the brilliance of its environmental aspects. The game is rich in details, which fairs well to those who are avid explorers.

The game is meant for exploration since it reveals its true nature only when players engross themselves in its world. This is what actually makes the game stand out as one of the best ever made.

Hidetaka Miyazaki is a master at his craft, and with his recent game, we can see how much his art has evolved over the years. He is not just the developer who makes challenging enemies anymore, but he stands out as one of the best at making an engaging world as well. What do you think about it?
