What Are the Streets of Rogue 2 Classes? – Answered

Streets of Rogue 2 expands upon the original rogue-lite, Streets of Rogue, by going bigger, better, and whacky. For starters, the game features countless class types that allow for strange, mostly viable, and definitely entertaining playthroughs. Here’s a look at the Streets of Rogue 2 classes we know about currently!

Every Class in Streets of Rogue 2

The Streets of Rogue 2 classes prove exceptionally varied and widespread, with many common archetypes to select from and several severely out-there class types that should offer unique gameplay. What other open-world RPG allows you to play as a gorilla that can double in size and smash down a jail wall to free other apes?

  • Soldier: A typical combat-oriented class that utilizes military vehicles, weapons, and explosives to power through enemies and objectives.
  • Cultist: A powerful class that wields elemental damage weaponry to deal damage from afar, including a space-age pistol that launches fireballs.
  • Farmer: A crafting and construction-style class survives by growing crops, gathering resources, and constructing buildings and workbenches.
  • Gorilla: A melee-oriented class that deals significant close-up damage and can smash through doors, walls, and windows to deal explosive damage.
  • Thief: A stealth-type class that utilizes gadgets and abilities to sneak through locked doors and steal critical items and information.
  • Hacker: A tech-oriented hacker class that can break into high-end vehicles and electronics to steal resources and take control of key items and objects.
  • Cop: An authority figure wielding various weapons and tools to arrest or neutralize hostiles, gaining reputation for every action as a lawman.

Of course, those are just the handful of character classes we can describe. There’s also: Robot, Banker, Alien, Detective, Scientist, Bar Tender, Mobster, Comedian, Firefighter, Shop Keeper, Mech Pilot, Chef, Cannibal, Assassin, Vampire, Courier, Politician, Wrestler, Doctor, and Gangster. Oh, and there’s more to come as development continues.

It’s safe to assume that we’ll be playing through Streets of Rogue 2 repeatedly, for hours on end, with every playthrough feeling unique and varied!

The Best Streets of Rogue 2 Class for Beginners?

It’s tough to say right now, as most of the game’s classes prove viable in the long run. However, if you want to explore many of the game’s mechanics and test new features, I recommend playing as the Soldier, Farmer, or Thief. These are classic archetypes—to some extent—that vary in playstyle.

The Soldier offers an action-focused playthrough style, with combat at the forefront. The Farmer handles crafting, gathering, and construction, immersing you in this procedural world. Lastly, the iconic Thief retains everyone’s favorite stealth-oriented playstyle in every open-world game ever.
