How to Get the Narwhal Ship?

he Narwhal has the highest hull strength compared to all the pre-built ships in Starfield. Its design closely resembles the Orca ship from the game and is classified as a Class-C ship. Even if you’re not a fan of exploration, acquiring the Narwhal should be a priority.

To get the ship, you need to visit Ryujin Technologies headquarters in Neon. If you’re wondering how to reach Neon, check out our Starfield guides for the region. The recommended level to visit Neon is level 5, so players can explore the headquarters early in the game as well.

When you arrive in Neon, head to the Ryujin Technologies headquarters and proceed to Taiyo Astroneering. Use the elevator to reach Taiyo Astroneering, which should be directly in front of you as soon as you enter the headquarters. After entering Taiyo Astroneering, go to the room on the right and interact with Veronica.

You can purchase the Narwhal from Veronica for 455,000 Credits, making it the most expensive ship in the game. To pilot the ship, you will also need Piloting level 4, which may seem challenging, especially in the early game. However, you can level your Piloting skill in no time by spending time in the flight training simulator.

Why Use Narwhal in Starfield?

As mentioned before, the Narwhal is arguably the best pre-built ship in the Bethesda’s Starfield and certainly the most expensive. It boasts a 560 fuel capacity, 2118 hull strength, and a seating capacity of seven, the highest among any base ships in the game.

With 1760 cargo space, it’s not the largest ship for transporting goods, but the Narwhal isn’t meant for hauling. Its exceptionally high base shield makes it practically unkillable in combat, especially on lower difficulties. Additionally, it comes equipped with laser auto-turrets and missiles, making it a powerful killing machine.

Unless you decide to build your own ship, the Narwhal will be your best option for zooming between planets. Its combat capabilities should not be underestimated, as the ship is essentially a floating tank in space with high damage potential, even if it doesn’t look like one.
