Remy, starved Davenport dog, ready for new home

A dog that was brought to King’s Harvest Pet Rescue in critical condition earlier this summer is ready for a forever family.

King’s Harvest Pet Rescue is now taking adoption applications for Remy. Remy, then known as “Remo” by staff, was brought to the shelter on July 23, weighing only 12 pounds. Remy is now a healthy 40 pounds and ready for his new family.

Click here to fill out an application or stop by 2504 West Central Park Avenue in Davenport between 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

A reward for information is being offered in connection with Remy. The reward, according to Facebook posts, is being offered for “information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who abused this dog that came from Jersey Meadow Apartments.”

“The Animal Protection Services division of the Humane Society of Scott County has been actively investigating into who may be responsible for a dog recently brought to King’s Harvest animal shelter this week in horrendous condition,” the post says.
