Perth Wildcats Next Star Izan Almansa is going to extraordinary lengths to achieve his NBA dream, with the teenager using video technology to work with an internationally renowned private development coach on the other side of the world while playing in the NBL.
Experienced Spanish basketball coach Carlos Frade has been working with Almansa for several years despite the talented teenager moving to the US and now Australia to further his career. Frade travelled to Perth for HoopsFest to watch Almansa in action, and told The West Australian’s The Dribble Podcast that he’d developed a system to coach players when the are living overseas.
