“The root of the problem, which causes these conflicts, wars, tensions, is the presence of the same people who claim that they want peace and tranquility in the region; I’m referring to America and some European countries.”
“If Israel removed their evil from this region, without a doubt, these conflicts, these wars, these clashes will disappear completely. The countries of the region can manage themselves, manage their region, live together in peace, health and well-being.”
He made no mention of his country firing missiles at Israel in retaliation on Tuesday (October 1).
The Iranian ballistic missile attack against Israel on Tuesday was larger, more complex and involved more advanced weapons than strikes in April, experts say, putting greater stress on missile defenses and allowing more warheads to get through.
Khamenei had previously been moved to a secure location after Israel assassinated Iran’s close ally Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah last week.
