1 Indiana Jones movie remains on Disney Plus

Among the series of five different Indiana Jones movies, only the latest — Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny — remains streamable on Disney Plus. The rest are spread out across other services like Paramount Plus.

In case this sounds weird to you, it’s pretty simple, as reported by Collider; while Disney owns Lucasfilm, the production of the first four flicks featuring Indy wee under different distributors. Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Lost Temple, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull are all not technically owned by Disney even though it owns the IP itself. So, odds are the streaming rights expired and Disney is either working on striking a deal or simply won’t bother.

Indiana Jones itself served a different-yet-connected audience to Lucasfilm’s sci-fi-centered Star Wars franchise. Starring Harrison Ford, who also played Han Solo in the space-bound IP, it saw him take the role of Indiana Jones an archeology professor who moonlights as an adventurer, often leading to dangers along the way.

The most recent flick, Dial of Destiny, released last year faring not-so-well in the box office, but it did capture a decent audience. It was an extremely costly movie to produce, too, so unfortunately, we wouldn’t shocked if Disney looks at putting to rest the IP altogether.
