The Amount of Money Raised to Finance This Cursed Game is What Marvel Movies Make at Box Office

The Story of Star Citizen is a dramatic one. The game has been in development for over 12 years and has still made negligible substantial progress towards completion.

There have been floating rumours about the studio behind the game not treating employees fairly. Employees are often overworked at CIG, which is short for Cloud Imperium Games. This is just one of the many complaints against the company that have contributed to the slow development process of the game. The game has also spent more money than what Marvel movies make at the box office.

CIG is known for poor management of funds as well as work delegation to lay the groundwork for a smooth working environment. The studio is known for spending carelessly on making the interiors feel more in touch with the universe of the game it is currently developing, with more focus on aesthetics rather than functionality.

This action in itself gives a deep insight into the thought process of the people in higher positions in the studio who are making such decisions. Even the engine on which the game is being developed is categorized as Frankestine by some employees since it is nothing but a mishmash of parts that is difficult to work with even at the best of times. The features within the engine are also regularly under maintenance, which causes further delay in activities.

The other issue lies with the fickle nature of Chris Roberts, the head of CGI. He is known for coming up with game-defining changes almost on a regular basis that transport the game back in development time, causing weeks of delay. He is a well-known person within the industry and is considered a perfectionist at most times. However, his judgements with Star Citizen do not seem to be going in the right direction, which has led to the studio spending over $700 million and counting.

CIG Needs To Get Its Act Together If It Wants Games To Be Delivered On Time

CIG’s working environment is considered to be toxic. Many veteran employees have already left the company due to problems with the internal management and not enough rise in the wages. This attitude has led many employees to leave the company and never look back.

Most of the employees in the studio currently are young people with not much experience, which has led to toxicity given the burden they are presented with by the studio.

The future of Star Citizen still looks a little uncertain. Until CIG brings about some major change in its management, it will just keep getting harder for it to deliver games in the future. The road ahead looks rocky. What do you think about it? Let us know in the comments below.
