How to Get the Age Of The Stars Ending
To find out how to get the Age of the Stars ending in Elden Ring, the player will have to take on one of the longest quest lines in the entire adventure. Achieving this ending will have the player encountering several bosses and taking on a variety of enemies to bring about this new era.
The Age of the Stars is one of the six endings that the player can witness, but they do need to complete specific objectives to ensure it comes to pass. Given the scale of this quest across every region of the map, it can be one of the most difficult Elden Ring endings to get. So, if you wish to give control of the region to the Lunar Witch, our Elden Ring guides will help you along the way.
How to Get the Age of the Stars Ending in Elden Ring?
This ending can be reached by following every step in Ranni the Witch’s quest and ensuring she can exert her will over the Lands Between. Ranni is against the current order dictating the flow of life and death in the world of Elden Ring and wishes to bring in a new age governed by a different Outer God, the Dark Moon. The Carian Royal Family has always held this celestial body in high regard, and the Witch wishes for it to be the guiding force for the world in Elden Ring.
While the player will become an Elden Lord with this ending, it comes with a surprising twist that the Lands Between have never experienced before. Given the magnitude of Ranni’s intentions, the quest itself is very extensive and will span the majority of the game. It will take you across several locations in, and under, the Lands Between to witness the Elden Ring the Age of Stars ending.
Tip
You can follow Ranni’s quest to gain the gear and weapons while also pursing other endings.
You might need to follow a lot of instructions to ensure this ending comes to pass, but you will also be awarded new gear, weapons, spells, and lore. You meet Ranni very early on in the game, but to properly begin her quest, you will need to gain access to Liurnia of the Lakes, the second region on the map, and arrive at the northwestern area to Caria Manor to begin your journey towards the Elden Ring the Age of the Stars ending.
Explore Caria Manor and Defeat Loretta’s Spirit to Gain Access to Meet with Ranni
Players will first encounter Ranni at the Church of Elleh at night in Limgrave, where she will give them the Spirit Calling Bell and the Lone Wolf Ashes. She will also ask if you would be willing to do her bidding once you find her. Answering yes doesn’t require you to perform any action just yet, and you can follow up on her meeting at your own pace, maybe after deciding which of the many Elden Ring builds you wish to use.
With the initial meeting completed, you can choose to first take out Godrick the Grafted and Queen Rennala before heading to the north to Caria Manor. Along the way to this location, you will meet with Blacksmith Iji, who acts as an advisor to Ranni. Blaidd is another character who is intertwined with her quest, but you don’t need to complete these subquests to get the Elden Ring the Age of Stars ending.
Be careful when approaching Caria Manor, as you will be bombarded by magic projectiles that will track your movement. They will cease to rain down on you once you arrive at the main gate and light the site of grace. Work your way through the Manor filled with spirits and Fingercrawlers until you come to the Royal Knight Loretta boss fight. Once defeated, you will have access to the Three Sisters, a set of three towers inside which you will find Ranni.
Speak with Ranni to Begin the Quest for Elden Ring The Age of the Stars Ending
You need to head to the tower labeled Ranni’s Rise, and you’ll know you’re on the right path when you come across Glintstone Dragon Adula. This is an optional field boss, but if you want to acquire a powerful Frost spell, then defeating her is necessary. You won’t be able to take her out at this moment, as after dealing enough damage she will disappear. Fear not; she will show up later during your quest.
Enter Ranni’s Rise and go all the way to the top to speak with the Lunar Princess. She will once again ask if you wish to serve her, and you should answer in the affirmative. She will then ask you to go into the city of Nokron with Blaidd to find the “treasure” there.
She is referring to the Fingerslayer Blade, which can be found in the underground city. You must first speak to War Counselor Iji, Blaidd, and Preceptor Seluvis. After exhausting their dialogues and speaking to Ranni once more, you can finally leave this region.
However, to access this location, you need to first travel to Caelid and defeat Starscourge Radahn. He may be Ranni’s direct brother, but nothing is going to stand in the way of the Lunar Princess ascending to godhood, and you will need some of the best Elden Ring builds to take him down without help.
You can summon Blaidd and several other NPCs to fight against Radahn. After defeating the Redmane General, a short animation will show how the city of Nokron is now accessible to the player. To begin your descent underground, head south of the Mistwood Ruins and discover the massive crater caused by the impact of the falling star.
Explore Nokron and Acquire the Fingerslayer Blade
The underground city is unlike any other region in Elden Ring and will bring players face-to-face with some unique enemies. You will need to do some nimble parkouring to get down to the main area of Nokron, and also be sure to avoid the attacks from the stray Mimic Tears, some of whom will take on the form of other Tarnished while others will attack you in their amorphous form.
Your objective, the Fingerslayer Blade, is found in the center of this location, and you are going to have to deal with several enemies along the way. Be careful not to be stunlocked by the sentient rolling balls. When you come across a long walkway with a massive staircase at one end, you’ll know you’ve arrived in the right place. The presence of a Mimic Tear taking on the appearance of a Troll will also signify the right location.
Defeat the Troll or run past it and head up the stairs to collect the Fingerslayer Blade required for the Elden Ring The Age of the Stars ending. You are now free to warp back to Ranni’s Rise, as long as you are not in active combat with any of the surrounding enemies.
Ranni Requires Several Enemies to be Defeated
Once you return and speak with Ranni, she will award you with the Inverted Carian Statue. This can be used to access the Divine Tower in Liurnia and pick up the Cursemark of Death from her corpse to progress Fia’s quest and achieve the Age of the Duskborn ending. However, to continue Ranni’s quest, you must exhaust her dialogue and then head to Renna’s Rise.
Climb the tower to pick up the Snow Witch armor set and then use the teleporter to arrive at Ainsel River Main. You will also find the Miniature Ranni Doll by some stone blocks, and you can speak with this Doll when you rest at the site of grace. She will instruct you to eliminate the Baleful Shadow who is nearby, and this requires you to go to Nokstella, Eternal City.
Instead of taking the route above, you need to head down to the floor of grounds where multiple Mimic Tears are present and reach the building in the south. Take the lift to the Nokstella Waterfall Basin site of grace, and speak to Ranni’s Doll once more. Follow the path until you arrive at a red room where the Baleful Shadow shall invade, and some Elden Ring builds will help you deal with him swiftly.
The doll will thank you for defeating this Shadow and give you the Discarded Palace Key. Take a quick detour back to Rennala’s arena, assuming you’ve beaten her, and open the chest there using this key to acquire the Dark Moon Ring. Now, you will need to press on through the Lake of Rot and to approach the last leg of this journey.
Cross the Lake of Rot to Take on The Naturalborn
The Lake of Rot is easily one of the most frustrating locations in the game. Unfortunately, it’s a mandatory region if you wish to get Elden Ring the Age of the Stars ending, so make sure you have many Preserving Boluses or Flame, Cleanse Me equipped.
You can also fight a Dragonkin Soldier and an Alabaster Lord in this location, but if you just want to get through it, then run straight ahead, using buttons on the floor to raise platforms, and arrive at the opposite end of the lake to find the site of grace within the Grand Cloister. You will also spot several Kindred of Rot praying, but you can run past them to the left until you come up to a coffin.
Using the coffin will bring you to the fog door of Astel, Naturalborn of the Void. Defeating this boss can be a bit challenging due to its teleporting ability. Once defeated, you will have to progress through the locked door from the arena that can be opened only after collecting the Dark Moon Ring. Unlocking this door will allow you to ride an elevator out of the Ainsel River and to the Moonlight Altar located in West Liurnia.
Defeat the Dragon and Speak with Ranni to Acquire the Greatsword
This is a high-level area, with several field dragons, an Evergaol, and even Glintstone dragon Adula. She appears here after you deal enough damage to her at the Three Sisters, and you have the opportunity to take her out completely. Doing so will reward you with the Adula’s Moonblade spell that inflicts Frost and Magic damage.
You can also choose to bypass this Dragon to enter the Cathedral she is guarding and descend into the large hole in the center. You will find Ranni here, sitting in front of a slain Two Fingers, waiting for your arrival. You can interact with this doll, and you will be given the option to place the Dark Moon Ring on her finger, thus becoming her consort.
Ranni will now ask you to complete the journey and become Elden Lord. You can return to this area once she disappears to pick up the Darkmoon Greatsword, which can be a great addition to many Intelligence-focused Elden Ring builds.
Summon Ranni After Defeating Radagon and Elden Beast
Now, it’s time to complete the game by cleaning up the remaining important bosses. This includes Fire Giant, Black Blade Maliketh, Godfrey, Radagon, and Elden Beast. While you will have breathing room between all of these, Radagon of the Golden Order and Elden Beast are back-to-back fights, so make sure you spread out your flasks and use them wisely.
Once you have defeated the Elden Beast, you will have the option to touch Fractured Marika and choose the Age of Order ending, or summon Ranni for the Elden Ring the Age of the Stars ending. Summon the Lunar Princess by touching her summon sign, and you will witness a cinematic that shows you disappearing with Ranni on a thousand-year voyage.
Having achieved Elden Ring the Age of the Stars ending, you are now free to go after any of the other remaining five Elden Ring endings. Which ending is your favorite? Let us know in the comments below and check our other Elden Ring guides for more tips and tricks!
