It Would be Dumb Not to Bring Back the Best Feature That Made WWE Finishers Absolutely Thrilling
For years, the WWE 2K franchise has been the staple of bringing wrestling to screens in video game format. But as time has passed, one of the most important parts of the WWE 2K series has been missing, the Create-a-Finisher feature. And fans are looking to WWE 2K25 to see if it comes back.
As the year 2025 approaches, so does the next entry in this classic franchise, and fans have a lot of expectations from it. One of the most notable is this iconic feature’s return. Gone since WWE 2K14, the Create-a-Finisher feature has been sorely missed.
WWE 2K25 Should Bring Back Some Legacy Features That Fans Love
The Create-A-Finisher feature was popular because it allowed players to design their own finishing moves. This added a personal touch to the climactic moments of matches for every player. With this feature, players could combine various animations and build complex, customizable finishers.

From WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2009 to WWE 2K14, players could string together moves to create a dramatic, unique ending sequence for their character. In WWE 2K25, bringing this feature back would bring back a lot of the community creativity that was lost since its removal.
A big part of the appeal of Create-a-Finisher was the hype for making finishers with your favorite characters. Unlike standard moves, these custom finishers weren’t limited to a pre-defined set of actions, which allowed for dramatic and often over-the-top and overkill finishers.

Bringing back this feature would be more than just nostalgia; it would address a current desire among fans for more customization. As seen in social media posts, players want more variety and depth to WWE 2K’s personalization options, specifically in areas like finishers, taunts, and entrance animations.

While WWE 2K22 and WWE 2K24 brought a refreshing level of detail and authenticity, players have been vocal about their yearning for features that offer a hands-on role in shaping their characters.
In a franchise that celebrates the uniqueness of each wrestler, giving fans the freedom to create finishers again is the move.
Visual Concepts Could Really Help The Fans Out
WWE 2K25 would benefit from other new and returning features to make the game’s longevity better. Fans have also been vocal about wanting the Create-A-Story and Create-A-Taunt features back, which allowed players to add depth to matches with custom storylines and taunts.

From a developer’s perspective, reintroducing Create-a-Finisher would provide a straightforward way to add value to WWE 2K25. Visual Concepts has a big sample size to learn from and with current-gen console and PC performance, it would look amazing.
Bringing these legacy features back would also serve the recent purpose of the WWE 2K franchise. The series has been steadily regaining the trust of players and the community since the problematic WWE 2K20 release.
With WWE 2K25 set for a potential early 2025 release, fans are eagerly waiting for the reveal of the official features list. Given the popularity of community-driven features in other games, it’s clear that WWE 2K25 would benefit from investing in player creativity.
