Killing Sogne the Icebound may take a few tries, but having this info on hand will ease your pain.

Sogne the Icebound has two stages, each with unique tactics to counter. Let’s dive into the approach for each.

Optional: No
Weak to: Fire (Phase 2)
Best Archetypes to Equip: Seeker, General, Summoner, Berserker
Difficulty: 8/10
How to Cheese Sogne the Icebound: Use Physical and Almighty attacks in Phase 1 to cut through Quartz Wall, then unleash Fire attacks in Phase 2.
Rewards: 7,260 EXP, 1,156 A-EXP, 10,500 MAG, 4,250 Money
Items: Dragonblood Sap, Dragon’s Breath
Worth the trouble: Yes

In the first phase, Sogne will cast Quartz Wall, blocking all elemental attacks, including its Fire weakness. This is your chance to lean on physical damage and Almighty attacks.

Once Quartz Wall is up, go all in on the Physical and Almighty attacks. The Berserker archetype should apply physical weaknesses and high-damage attacks, and get someone on the party to buff your defense.

Don’t bother trying to cast debuffs on Sogne, as Rella will nullify all of them. This won’t be the same for the second phase, but keep this in mind for the first phase.

Rella will be using Almighty and Light attacks, but focus your attention on Sogne. It will occasionally cast Roar, lowering every party member’s stats by a few points. When this happens, get your Summoner party member to remove the debuff with Dekunda.

Once you drain Sogne’s health bar the first time, Rella will heal it fully, and you’ll enter the second phase. Sogne will now be vulnerable to Fire-based attacks, so you can unleash the full might of your party upon it.

It’ll use Draconic Wrath in this phase to boost its attack, so this phase essentially becomes a DPS check about who can kill who the fastest.

To sum up our guide on how to kill Sogne the Icebound, just be consistent with your strategy, respond quickly to status ailments, and carry some important skills with you to counter Sogne and Rella’s moves.
