Mario & Luigi: Brothership Preorders – Get An Exclusive Pin Set At Best Buy Before It’s Gone

Fans of Super Mario role-playing games have had it good over the past year with great modernized versions of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Super Mario RPG for Nintendo Switch. And now the return of the Mario & Luigi series is almost here. Mario & Luigi: Brothership releases exclusively on Nintendo Switch this Thursday, November 7. If you haven’t preordered a copy yet, you only have until launch day to get Best Buy’s exclusive pin set preorder bonus.

And if you haven’t played the other Mario RPGs on Switch, you can save on all three of them right now. These are just three of the many Mario games on sale for great prices right now. We’ve included a big list of notable Mario game deals for Nintendo Switch at the bottom of this article.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership Preorder Bonuses

Like many Nintendo games, Mario & Luigi: Brothership doesn’t have official, universal preorder bonuses. Instead, there are retailer-exclusive bonuses at select retailers in the US: Best Buy, GameStop, and Target. Nintendo ran a similar promotion for Super Mario Party Jamboree’s release last month. And just like that one, the rules at each retailer are different. Best Buy’s Mario & Luigi pin set bonus is available to those who preorder online for delivery or in-store pickup.

GameStop has a two-pack of the same Mario & Luigi designs, just as keychains instead, and Target has a two-pack of Mario & Luigi magnetic photo frames. Unfortunately, GameStop and Target only offer these bonuses in stores when the game launches, so these are technically purchase bonuses–while supplies last, and Nintendo bonuses typically don’t stick around after launch weekend.

AlphaDream, the studio behind all previous entries in the Mario & Luigi series, went bankrupt in 2019, months after the release of Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story + Bowser Jr.’s Journey. The Mario & Luigi series remained dormant until Nintendo revealed Brothership during a Nintendo Direct earlier this year.

Brothership is developed by Acquire, a studio that has been around for nearly 30 years but is new to Nintendo IP. Acquire created the Tenchu and Way of the Samurai franchises. More recently, the studio co-developed the Octopath Traveler series with Square Enix.

Mario Game Deals for Nintendo Switch

Unless otherwise specified, all of the game deals in the list below are available at Amazon-owned retailer Woot. It’s worth noting Woot now sells region-free Switch games, which means you aren’t guaranteed to get a North American version of the games below. The Switch is a region-free console, and all of these games will play in English and run the same as the North American editions. But if you do get a game from a different region, just know that if you wind up wanting DLC down the road, you will need to purchase it from the eShop matching the base game.
