Helldivers 2 ‘Super Earth is Terminid Homeworld’ Theory is the Enemy of Managed Democracy
There’s no denying the fact that Helldivers 2 is one of the biggest success stories of the year. Its stunning graphics, exciting co-op gameplay, and challenging Major Orders from Super Earth have allowed it to land a special place in every gamer’s heart!
Even though Helldivers 2 is a phenomenal game, it’s been the subject of a lot of criticism. Gamers haven’t appreciated the entire PSN account-linking saga or developer Arrowhead’s decisions to nerf various fan-favorite weapons.
Despite all that, there’s no shortage of hype and excitement surrounding the title as players continue to speculate on new theories day in and day out.
Is The Federation Our Real Enemy in Helldivers 2?
The Federation is the ultimate entity in Helldivers 2, overseeing Helldivers and protecting Super Earth. However, is it really the savior of everything, as it claims?
Posted on r/helldivers subreddit, one theory suggests that the Super Earth was originally inhabited by the Terminids. The Federation, seeking for resources and a strategic location, launched a mission to “liberate” Super Earth and drive out the Terminids. To help in this takeover, the Federations also crafted the Automatons, which were robotic soldiers programmed to subdue Terminids. Automatons ultimately ended up gaining sentience and rebelling against The Federation.
The Federation managed to end the reign of rebel automatons within Super Earth. However, the Redditor believes that those sent to other regions continued their struggle. Now, the automatons seek to return to Super Earth and avenge their fallen brothers, while the Terminids want to take over their original home.
This is where Helldivers step in, sent on “liberation” operations across the galaxy and fighting both Termnids who wish to reclaim Super Earth and rebel Automatons. The theory suggests that Helldivers are merely pawns in The Federation’s plans.
The Federation’s calls before battles, such as “Friendly Fire Isn’t, Don’t Die,” are manipulating as they suggest a sense of care while distracting us from the actual truth. The Federation is an oppressive regime that seeks to establish absolute dominance and control over the galaxy.
All we might have done so far is help a ruthless dictatorship to decimate “enemies” who have lost everything to this oppressive regime.
Arrowhead’s Efforts to Revive Helldivers 2 Have Paid Off
With the surge of such theories in recent months, it’s clear that Arrowhead is on the right path when it comes to the future of Helldivers 2. The game hit quite a rough patch after its initial release because gamers expected new content, but all they got were pointless nerfs, which ruined the game to oblivion.
Exactly when Helldivers 2 started losing its momentum, Sony decided to push out the PSN account linking policy, which added fuel to the fire. The community’s reaction was strong, which forced Sony to revoke it.
However, the damage was done. The title’s Steam page was plagued with negative reviews, but the Escalation of Freedom update made things even worse, forcing the developers to come up with a new plan.
With the recent changes, Arrowhead has managed to turn everything around as it has reworked many aspects and buffed fan-favorite Strategems such as Railgun and Flamethrower. It’s safe to say that the developer is going down the right path and might finally give some competition to Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2.
