Recently, one fan created a concept art for a dashboard for the upcoming handheld as they felt that the current one was not enticing enough. Concept Art is not a completely new idea in the gaming industry. As the community is constantly evolving, they get tired of waiting for new hardware or game releases and take it upon themselves to see what the next generation experience will look like.

In this case, fans got tired of waiting to learn more information about the Switch 2, especially since the only official detail known so far is that the upcoming hybrid console will be backward compatible, with more information expected to be released around the end of March 2025. The reimagined dashboard concept looks really sleek and showcases the creativity of the gaming community.

Reddit User, ThisCouldBeMe_, was able to convert the current dashboard into a smarter and better-looking UI by adding key features from the current UI from Xbox: its tile-shaped layout with personal information on the bottom. By adding the best parts of the Xbox UI and Switch UI, they were able to deliver a more streamlined, user-friendly layout.

After seeing the concept art, fans were super excited and even wanted to see the concept UI being adopted for the upcoming handheld. Some are especially impressed by the concept of showing the game’s wallpaper behind the tiles.

The entire thread shows that the fans loved the modern yet familiar look of the UI. They are now just waiting to see what the company will actually create. While there is some skepticism that the company won’t be adapting anything new, there is still some hope.

Nintendo Should Focus on Creating a More Intuitive Dashboard

Nintendo has always been proud of its ability to deliver an accessible, intuitive, and family-friendly experience to all its users. However, with the rapid rate at which the gaming industry is evolving, the company also needs to get out of its comfort zone and push for innovation in its dashboard design as well.

The original Switch was released in 2017 and even at that time, the design of the dashboard was OK at best. Now, with enough time passed, it’s the perfect time for the company to put on some creative shoes once again and dabble in the creativity department instead of the lawyer’s office.

While the concept is purely speculative, it highlights the potential of what the upcoming console could become if the company decides to take the generational leap. As fans continue to speculate about more details about the upcoming console’s performance, third-party offerings, and design changes, they are hoping that some of the recent leaks come true.

In the end, while the wait is slowly becoming painful for the fans, they continue to admire these concepts while hoping that Nintendo will give players the best of all worlds.
