How to Unlock the Crown Clan Tag in Black Ops 6
The Crown Clan Tag is one of the most unique and cool-looking Clan Tag icons in all of Black Ops 6. Its unlock requirements come with a price though, so you have been warned. Read on for full details on how to unlock the Crown Clan Tag, why it’s so sought-after, and how to equip it.
Modern Call of Duty games allow you to customize nearly every aspect of your player profile: Loadouts, Weapon Skins, Calling Cards, Emblems, Charms, and your Clan Tag. Even in 2024, I see the most ridiculous Clan Tags ranging from outright offensive to ingenious. In Black Ops 6, you can go one step further, and change your clan tag to a different icon altogether—separate from your Prestige icon.
These special Clan Tags started appearing once Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season One dropped. There’s a special reason why, so let’s check out everything we know about the Crown Clan Tag.
How to Get Crown Clan Tag in Black Ops 6
You need to own the Blackcell Season One content upgrade in Black Ops 6 to automatically unlock the Crown Clan Tag option.
This means either purchasing Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Vault Edition (which comes with Blackcell access) or paying extra to upgrade your current version of BLOPS 6 in online multiplayer.
If you meet the criteria above, the Crown Clan Tag is part of an immediate set of rewards given to you when you start your season one adventure.
The first Blackcell version of the Season Pass comes with the following:
- 1,100 CoD Points.
- “Boiling Point” Goblin MM2 Blackcell Blueprint.
- “Who’s Laughing Now?” Finishing Move.
- Crown Clan Tag.
- Goliath Operator Skin.
How to Equip Crown Clan Tag in Black Ops 6
You need to go to the “Clan Tag” settings in Black Ops 6 and press on “Edit Clan Tag,” and if you have the Crown Clan Tag, you receive an exclusive option to equip the Crown as your Clan Tag.
Do this to equip the cosmetic:
- Obtain the Blackcell Season One Battle Pass upgrade.
- Go to the Black Ops 6 main multiplayer menu.
- Press Options on PlayStation—or the applicable input on your platform.
- Shuffle across to the player profile sub-menu.
- Scroll down to Edit Clan Tag.
- Press on it, and if you own the Blackcell upgrade, you see two options: Equip Blackcell Clan Tag and Edit Clan Tag.
- Choose the first option, and equip the Crown.
Where you would normally have a Clan Tag, you now sport the most glorious of gold crowns instead. It does mean paying extra (upgrading to Blackcell) but you can’t argue with the outcome, and it’s why everyone is so desperate to have it.
Modern Warfare 2 was the first CoD iteration to welcome Blackcell to the already microtransaction-heavy nature of the series. It allows players to pay extra money to receive even more premium versions of the Weapon Blueprints and Operator Skins seen in Battle Passes. It doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere anytime soon, so expect more limited-time items and unique Clan Tag cosmetics such as this.
