Wuthering Waves announces version 2.0 as the JRPG is set to release on PlayStation 5 next year
- Version 2.0 will launch on January 2nd on all platforms
- Rinascita, a new region, will be introduced
- Numerous pre-order rewards available on the console
It’s been an interesting week for Wuthering Waves fans as Kuro Games recently released the version 1.4 update featuring a wave of new content. From the Somnoire: Illusive Realms mode to the two new characters, there’s a lot to look forward to in the open-world RPG. Now, as we look ahead, version 2.0 is set to be the biggest one yet with a brand new region on the horizon.
Besides the new update, Wuthering Waves also received a nomination in the Best Mobile Game category at The Game Awards 2024. With that came the major announcement of version 2.0, which will launch next year on all platforms. I say all platforms because the popular JRPG is finally making its debut on the PlayStation 5, giving console fans a taste of the action.
Wuthering Waves has had fans captivated since launch thanks to not only its intricate combat system, but also its rich setting and narrative. All the action takes place on Solaris-3, a planet which is further subdivided into six nations, of which, we know about Huanglong, New Federation, and Rinsascita.
Currently, we’re in the Huanglong phase of the story but it is now confirmed that this phase is ending soon. Kuro Games has confirmed that the upcoming version 2.0 will feature Rinascita as a brand new region, massively expanding on the storyline and gameplay. This means that version 1.4 and possibly the next few patches will wrap this region up as we prepare for the next.
While you wait for it to launch on consoles, you can redeem these Wuthering Waves codes on mobile to get your hands on a bunch of freebies!
Version 2.0 of Wuthering Waves will be released on January 2nd on iOS, Android, PC, and the PlayStation 5. Pre-orders are open on the console right now, with several rewards up for grabs. Visit the official website for more information.
