GTA 6 Rumored Leak Confirms Our Worst Fears But Rockstar Is Severely Underestimating the Gamers

With the Nintendo Switch 2 officially revealed, it is no surprise that we come back to speculating about Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6). Most recently, a Reddit user claimed to have seen hours of gameplay of the upcoming title from Rockstar Games.

According to the Reddit post, causing chaos in the world of GTA 6 will feel much more realistic. This includes one of GTA fans’ biggest pastimes of shooting NPCs, which is apparently so realistic that it will make us feel bad for doing it. But causing chaos is part of why GTA is so fun, so what’s Rockstar planning with this?

GTA 6 could possibly be too realistic if this sketch leak is to be believed

First, let’s start off by acknowledging the source of this leak. Reddit user u/Pebblestar posted on the GTA subreddit with a title that read “I’ve seen (in person) few hours of random GTA VI gameplay from an 2024 build / AMA.” They went on to describe several of the game’s supposed mechanics in great detail. But there is no legitimacy to any of this since they provided no source. But let’s entertain it for now and discuss the biggest red flag.

Perhaps the biggest claim they made about the game is the hyper-realistic reaction of NPCs when injured. According to the leak, shooting an NPC would result in them stumbling, clutching their wound, and gasping for air in their final moments. It sounds like exactly the kind of realism that a modern game would feature, but the aim to make players feel guilty and hesitant is not very GTA-like.

Fans have immediately caught on to this too. On the Reddit post, and a repost on X, fans called out the skeptical nature of not just the leak itself but also that claim specifically. Causing chaos in the world is part of what makes Grand Theft Auto so appealing to people. Surely Rockstar’s aim isn’t to make it less fun for players.

Going on a rampage on the streets of Vice City and Los Santos while fighting everyone from NPCs to the police is something every GTA fan has done. An X user summed it up perfectly, saying, “Do they forget who they are and what they’ve done to our generation, there’s a reason we’ve played GTA after GTA, and it’s not always just because of the story.

There’s just so many things to speculate about GTA 6

Aside from the NPC thing, u/Pebblestar also talked about several other game features. These include mentions of a system where the Vice City Police Department (VCPD) establishes crime scenes in the world, NPCs clean up wreckages, and dynamic weather affects the world with storms making potholes on roads that evaporate over time.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. But we’ll find out soon enough. Another recent point to note about GTA 6 is its potential pricing. Matthew Ball, an analyst and researcher with Epyllion, recently released a detailed 221-slide presentation report titled “The State of Video Gaming in 2025.” In it, he talks about the possibility of GTA 6 costing as much as $100 per copy.

Early reports also suggest that the game is on track to make $3.2 billion in revenue in the first year alone. With a $100 price tag, that number seems all too achievable, but what’s scary is the possibility of other developers taking the chance to make $100 the new standard for AAA game prices. And we don’t want that no sir.
