Legendary in Bronze, Dumpster-Fire in Platinum, Absolute Godlike in Eternity
NetEase Games’ Marvel Rivals offers a roster of 33 popular characters from the Marvel Universe. Each character has abilities that help them stand out from the rest of the characters on the battlefield, but they are only effective against a certain group of players. For example, Rocket Raccoon, one of the most popular characters in the game, is apparently good in all competitive ranks except Platinum.
Rocket Raccoon was weak when Marvel Rivals was initially launched, but over the past month, the character has proved to be one of the best strategists in the game. In fact, the character now has a high pick rate and an even higher win rate, making him one of the best Support heroes in the game.
Marvel Rivals players think Rocket Raccoon only works on certain competitive ranks
A viral post on the r/marvelrivals subreddit has called out all those players who believe that Rocket Raccoon is bad in the Platinum competitive rank. The player who shared the post implied that players of all ranks think that Rocket Raccoon is good, except the Platinum players, who don’t seem to understand the character’s potential.
What I’ve noticed as a Rocket main in competitive.

Rocket Raccoon’s abilities are not bad at all, in fact, his healing abilities make him one of the best support agents in the game. His ultimate ability provides other players with a massive damage boost, plus his B.R.B ability even allows him to revive fallen allies.
Many have complained that players throw competitive matches just because they picked Rocket Raccoon. Maybe it is hard to understand the character’s abilities because he certainly has a lot of potential.
Rocket Raccoon is one of the most popular characters in Marvel Rivals Season 1
In season 0, Rocket Raccoon was among the least-picked Strategist heroes in the game. However, that completely changed with the release of season 1. As per Rivals Meta, the hero now has a pick rate of 33.50% and a win rate of 53.95%. His popularity has sky-rocketed, particularly in Competitive mode, as many players are eager to master his abilities.
It’s all because NetEase Games gave Rocket Raccoon a much-needed buff as a part of the season 1 update. There was an increase in the healing of Repair Mode, making it 70 per second from 60 per second. His Team Up ability was also buffed as the cooldown was reduced from 45 to 40 seconds. Rocket Raccoon is undoubtedly the best Strategist hero in the game right now, so it’s really odd that players in some ranks are struggling to play as him.
