Here’s how to find out if your area is impacted

Mandatory evacuation orders and warnings have been issued for a fast-moving wildfire that has burned at least 3,400 acres near Castaic Wednesday morning, authorities said.

Residents who live in the area can check if their area is under an evacuation order or warning by looking at the map below or by visiting the Genasys Protect or the Cal Fire websites.

So far, evacuation orders and warnings have been issued for the following areas as of 12:15 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

The fire, dubbed the Hughes Fire, was announced shortly before 10:45 a.m. by the Angeles National Forest.

Early estimates from CalFire put the blaze at approximately 50 acres until it grew to about 100 acres close to 11:30 a.m.

By 11:45 a.m., however, the blaze was estimated to be 500 acres.
