Golden Bay: Authorities investigating possible shark bite incident involving young boy

Emergency services are investigating reports of a shark attack involving a child north of Mandurah.

St John WA were called to Golden Bay just after 5pm on Thursday, with authorities investigating whether a child has been bitten.

Paramedics are responding to reports a male child has suffered injuries.

A St John WA spokeswoman said they are believed to be minor, but that it was unconfirmed.

“DPIRD (Fisheries) are investigating a possible shark bite near this location,” Surf Life Saving WA said on X.

SLSWA said the shark, of unknown size, was first sighted just after 5.10pm.
