Capcom is ending service for Resident Evil Village’s pack-in multiplayer game
Capcom is ending service for Resident Evil Re:Verse, the multiplayer game packed with Village, and removing it from online stores.
The multiplayer game will be removed from stores on March 3, alongside the removal of the game’s DLC.
Then, on June 29, the game will no longer be playable. The game will also no longer be included when purchasing digital copies of Resident Evil Village. It appears that players will still be able to download the application once the service has ended, however, it won’t be functional.
A statement on the Resident Evil blog reads, “Resident Evil Re:Verse was developed in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Resident Evil series, and your overwhelming support for the game has far exceeded our expectations since the time of its release.
“Now that we’ve reached a new turning point for the series, we feel that Resident Evil Re:Verse has served its original, celebratory purpose admirably.”
Resident Evil Village, the eighth main entry in the series, was released in 2021. It’s expected that a new mainline entry in the series will be announced soon, followed by more remakes of classic titles.
