Sparking Zero’s ‘Master vs Apprentice’ Trailer May Have Just Shadow-Confirmed a Long-Forgotten Feature for the Franchise is Returning
Energy is high again as the new Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero trailer has landed on video sharing platform YouTube. This time, it is themed ‘Master vs. Apprentice’ and showcases some unbreakable bonds we saw back in our days. It will be a nostalgic ride for many. The video features characters including Piccolo, Master Roshi, Yamcha, and more.
But the fans have their eyes turned to somewhere else. They are highlighting one feature that may make the game more interesting than ever. And if the speculation arrow is on point, then we might come to know that it is being pulled straight from another DBZ video game.
Players Would Want to Choose a Worthy Z Fighter Here
Dragon Ball seems incomplete with just one-vs.-one battles. But one taking on two or even all the Z fighters is definitely the DBZ thing. Though such battles were a part of the manga and the anime, fans didn’t get to see too much of that in the franchise’s video game adaptations. Bandai Namco released a game dubbed Tenkaichi Tag Team, which, as the name suggests, saw one fighter taking on two at once.
Fans, after watching the trailer, sparked a debate on Reddit over the fact. A post from a user named Inevitable_Cell_7150 asks if this is a tease for a tag team feature akin to the PlayStation Portable game.
DOES THIS CONFIRM THAT 1VS2 OR 2VS2 LIKE TENKAICHI TAG TEAM.

The latest trailer for the next Budokai Tenkaichi game may have already teased the feature in it. In the video, during the 0:35 mark, fans can see Master Roshi taking on two of his apprentices, Yamcha and Krillin. However, Yamcha and Krillin aren’t seen together against the Turtle Hermit.
If the feature is included in the game, fans are in for one energetic ride.
Such Battles in Dragon Ball Story Arcs Will Add to The Fun
The possibility of a tag team feature becomes more imminent as Tenkaichi Tag Team has similar gameplay to Budokai Tenkaichi‘s. However, none of the video games in the series have incorporated such a feature in the past. The PSP game also had a Dragon Walker mode, which allowed players to live through the DBZ story arc from the Saiyan Saga to the Majin Buu Saga.
Fans are all hyped up about the game and are expecting much from it. Though there will be over 164 characters on Sparking! Zero‘s roster, some fans have specific demands. Hopefully, they’ll get to see them, given that Bandai Namco hasn’t even revealed even a quarter of them.
Uncertain of how the characters have been chosen, some fans just concluded after discussing that they must not expect manga characters in the franchise’s video game adaptation. The game is likely to come this year, but no announcement has been made yet. It could be delayed if further development is required.
