Helldivers 2 Fans are Not Happy Arrowhead Would Rather Give us Orbital Lasers But Not a Fan-favorite Support Weapon

Without a doubt, Helldivers 2 is one of the most popular games in the world right now thanks to its action-packed gameplay. The game has many weapons and Stratagems, however, many people still point out that many weapons are still missing. One such weapon is a minigun. Almost every shooting video game has this weapon but Arrowhead still hasn’t added it  to the game.

The MG-206 Heavy Machine Gun is a replacement for it but it’s quite strange that a proper mini-gun wasn’t added to the game at the time of release. Recently, Arrowhead boss, Johan Pilestedt acknowledged a fan concern regarding the assault rifles being underpowered in the game. Hopefully, in the future, this problem will be solved as Pilestedt agrees that assault rifles’ representation has become diluted.

Helldivers 2 fans want Arrowhead to add a minigun to the game

In a recent post on the r/Helldivers2 subreddit, a Helldivers 2 player pointed out that it’s strange that the game doesn’t have a minigun. The game features all sorts of weapons and Stratagems like a flamethrower, rocket launchers, railgun, grenade launcher, laser cannon, and sniper rifle, but it makes no sense why Arrowhead Game Studios chose to cut minigun from the game. We have a replacement for it in the form of MG-43 Machine Gun and MG-206 Machine Gun but these weapons could co-exist in the game with a minigun.

A Reddit user named MisterEinc even pitched in an idea for the minigun, listing its capabilities as well as limitations. The player wrote,

Very high rate of fire, medium armor pen, takes a backpack slot for belt fed ammo, no reloading. No sights. Ads slows your movement, lowers recoil, and increases rof. Has a weirdly high chance to ricochet, in Helldivers fashion.

One player suggested using the M-105 Stalwart machine gun at 1150 rpm as it is the closest one can get to a minigun in the game. Arrowhead Game Studios is known for listening to its fans, so hopefully in the future, fans might get to see a minigun in the form of a Stratagem.

Johan Pilestedt agrees that assault rifles in Helldivers 2 are underpowered

It is no secret that the assault rifles in Helldivers 2 are quite weak. Recently, a player pointed out its weak points in an X post and it caught Johan Pilestedt’s attention. The Arrowhead CEO agreed, claiming that its representation has become diluted,

Agree on Assault Rifles. Their representation has become diluted. It’s always strange in games where rifles are seen as pea shooters rather than the 2k J spitters that they are.

Players are currently having a blast on the battlefield as a new grenade glitch has been discovered. By simply spamming some buttons, both PS5 and PC players could acquire 4.2 billion grenades on the battlefield.
