When is Resident Evil 9 Coming Out? – Answered
Following the immense success of Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4 Remake, Capcom fully intends to spin up its wheels and pump out quality remakes, remasters, and mainline entries in the long-running survival horror franchise. While a remake is excellent—it hits right in the nostalgia portion of the brain—many of us want RE9. So, when is Resident Evil 9 coming out?
According to previous reports, Resident Evil 9 was initially supposed to receive a reveal this summer and launch in early 2025. However, recent leaks from Dusk Golem on X (formerly Twitter) indicate those rumors were incorrect. The reveal itself won’t take place this summer but likely later, perhaps in the fall or winter of this year.
The leaks indicate that Resident Evil 9 will launch in late 2025 or early 2026. However, Capcom has yet to officially announce a release date.
Alongside the leaks regarding RE9, word also came down about a potential Resident Evil 5 Remake, which isn’t currently in development.
Many previous leaks we saw and reported on regarding Resident Evil 9 focused on its overall gameplay and setting. First and foremost, the word is that RE9 is going open-world, which sounds fantastic. Village provided us with a semi-open-world setting, with massive environments to explore, but an actual open world sounds genuinely enjoyable. That said, I’d prefer Racoon City. It’s said to take place on a tropical island in Singapore.
