All Monster Hunter Wilds Details Revealed at PlayStation State of Play

After four years since Monster Hunter Rise and seven years since Monster Hunter World, the buildup is certainly rising for Capcom’s next Monster Hunter release. In Sony’s State of Play, Monster Hunter fans were treated to an interesting new trailer.

Fans are already excited to see what’s next, and this gameplay trailer alone has them speculating about a ton of new features, including the Windward Plains area.

Did the hunter switch from a Great Sword to a Bowgun while mounted?

We got a look at some eye-watering combat gameplay, including numerous weapon reveals. They also showcased a few new monsters:

  • Doshaguma – a highly territorial and aggressive that comes in large packs
  • Chatacabra – an amphibian that uses saliva to strengthen its forelegs
  • Ceratonoth – a beast that catches lightning strikes with their back and unleashing them to the ground
  • Dalthydon – a wyvern that fights back with its headshell when it senses danger

There’s also a new small but agile mount, Seikret. The biggest change, however, is the ability to switch to a secondary weapon without returning to the base!

They also added a new focus mode feature that helps hunters aim and control better for a smoother monster hunting experience. For new equipment, we have the new Hook Slinger that grabs items at a distance.

It has also been unveiled that there are 14 weapon types that will make a return to Monster Hunter Wilds.

Great Sword Long Sword Sword & Shield
Dual Blades Hammer Hunting Horn
Lance Gunlance Switch Axe
Charge Blade Insect Glaive Light Bowgun

The main character will now also be voiced, which is unprecedented in the franchise.
