A Crossover With Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is Yoshi-P’s Dream Project But Is Unlikely To Happen Anytime Soon
Yoshi-P has been desperate to collaborate with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s boss. He is the mastermind behind the long-running online RPG Final Fantasy 14.
The game has seen many crossovers during its lifespan since 2010. However, Yoshi-P’s dreams are unlikely to come true with his current want of a crossover with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth due to one particular reason.
Yoshi-P’s Final Fantasy Crossover Dream Hangs Loose
Naoki Hamaguchi, the director of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, is also excited and looking forward to a crossover with Yoshi-P. He expressed his desire to team up with him, stating that the two are often on the same page and it would be amazing to collaborate in the future.
Although the crossover is bound to happen, it just will not materialize anytime soon. Hamaguchi wants to finish the Final Fantasy 7 trilogy before thinking about anything else at the moment. During the Golden Joystick Game Awards, he shared his opinion on the matter. He said:
I mean, obviously there’s nothing specific planned at the moment, but I think it’d be a great idea. Yes, I mean, I get on very well with Yoshi myself. We both trust each other greatly.
We often get together and discuss things like the future of the Final Fantasy series, etc. So I think because we do work so well together, there’s definitely a lot of things that could possibly come up along those lines. So yeah, I think it’d be really good.
This indicates positively towards a bright future where Final Fantasy fans might see their dreams come true when a crossover between the two widely celebrated games materializes for good.
However, things seem to be going at a slow pace at the moment, and it might be a little long before any of this comes true. Players need to be a little more patient if they share the same dream with Yoshi-P
Final Fantasy 14 Is A Long-Running Successful Game
Final Fantasy 14 is an online RPG title that was released back in 2010. The game has since gotten a lot of acclaim. It has also seen a lot of crossovers, including mainline Final Fantasy games, Capcom’s Monster Hunter World, and Nier: Automata.
The game is not foreign to the concept of crossovers but is rather accustomed to it. Yoshi-P knows what he is doing. It is important for a live-service game to keep innovating and evolving to meet the ever-changing needs and expectations of its players, and having a crossover with a modern title like Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth might help the game in the long run.
The only thing to do at the moment is wait for the trilogy to wrap up. We will only get a clear picture once the entire trilogy is out. What do you think about it? Let us know in the comments below.
