A Fanart Is How We Know Hidetaka Miyazaki Needs to Get Started on an Elden Ring Comic ASAP

Thanks to Hidetaka Miyazaki’s vision, FromSoftware’s 2022 game, Elden Ring, has successfully established itself as one of the best Soulslike games of all time. Despite its punishing difficulty level, the game performed really well around the world. Elden Ring contains a lot of content that will keep gamers engaged for a long time, but FromSoftware realized that it was not enough and released the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC in June 2024, reviving the game’s hype once again.

The game is quite popular in the gaming industry but what would happen if Elden Ring gets adapted into some other medium, comic books in particular? Well, this stunning fan art shows us what FromSoftware could do if they work with some major comic book publishers.

If FromSoftware actually plans to create something like this, they will have a hard time adapting every fight in the game as there are over 250 boss fights in Elden Ring, Shadow of the Erdtree DLC included. If they start a comic book series that covers all the main boss fights, it will help expand Elden Ring‘s influence and even help FromSoftware financially.

Hidetaka Miyazaki Doesn’t Oppose The Idea Of Creating A Movie Based On Elden Ring

Video game adaptations are trending nowadays. Thanks to the success of projects like Last of Us, Fallout, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie, it makes sense why many popular video game publishers are eager to create movies/TV shows based on their popular franchises. Hidetaka Miyazaki has never talked about a comic book adaptation but he has certainly talked about a movie.

Earlier this year, Miyazaki appeared for an interview with The Guardian and explained that he doesn’t oppose the idea of creating a movie based on Elden Ring, but that would only be possible with a strong partner,

I don’t see any reason to deny another interpretation or adaptation of Elden Ring, a movie for example. But I don’t think myself, or FromSoftware, have the knowledge or ability to produce something in a different medium. So that’s where a very strong partner would come into play. We’d have to build a lot of trust and agreement on whatever it is we’re trying to achieve, but there’s interest, for sure.

Expanding Elden Ring‘s universe will only benefit FromSoftware and a movie is the perfect way to make the franchise popular among a wider audience. Most video game adaptations are butchered nowadays, so it makes sense why FromSoftware is so particular about their “strong partner.
