Activision Boss Says Only a “Good Player” Can Use 1 Feature in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is around the corner. The highly anticipated title from Treyarch is going to be released on October 25, 2024. After the completion of the Modern Warfare trilogy, now it’s time for COD to pick from where it left off in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

Whenever a new COD title surfaces in the market, nostalgia hits pretty hard. This franchise is one of those very few that made our childhood brighter. Still, there is one unique feature that might kill the classic Call of Duty vibe.  However, one Treyarch personnel has assured that good players will be able to use this feature flawlessly.

Good Players Will be Able to Pick Up Omni-movement in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

The whole hype regarding Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 revolves around the new movement mechanics. The developers have claimed that the movement mechanics in the game will receive an overhaul change and will include a franchise-first feature called Omni-movement.

Criticisms have already started building up after the company revealed this feature. But Miles Leslie, associate creative director at Activision studio Treyarch, has assured us that “good players” will be able to pick this feature up. In an interview with GamesBeat, this is what he stated about this new movement feature:

Based on our experience, our playtesting–we’ve had a lot of time on this game to chisel away and fine-tune everything. We feel it’s in a good spot. If you’re a good player, you’ll be able to pick it up and use it. It will basically feel natural to you. If you’re already good, you’re good. It’s not going to make you better than other people, but it will add an element where you can now play how you want to. It’s player agency. You’ve always been able to slide and dive, but combining all these things into omni-movement makes it special.

But what is Omni-movement? It is definitely just more than a buzz word. In this new kind of movement, you will be able to dive, go prone, or slide in any direction. Not only that, you will also be able to slide in the direction you jumped in when landing from a jump. So, basically, you can move literally however you want.

Omni-movement Will Change Call of Duty

Omni-movement might redefine Call of Duty as it is going to change the future of the game. Initially, this franchise was about immense precision in shooting skills and presence of mind.

Now, after this overhaul of movement mechanics, players have to put more stress on movement than anything. As we have seen in gameplay videos, players will be extremely hard to hit as you can make your movement combos yourself.

For instance, you can make your own movement combos to dodge the bullets of your enemies, like quick back paddles, fast side strafes, or successive jumps, slides, and jumps that too in different directions each time. So, movement is going to be very unpredictable.

Another thing that is going to happen is disparity in cross-play lobbies. Controllers will have aim assist for sure, but that won’t bother mouse and keyboard players because of Omni-movement.

However, the game is in beta right now and is gearing for a full release. So, time will tell us what is going to happen with this long-hailed franchise. What’s your opinion on this? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section.
