Hell Let Loose lets you jump into the action with three unique game modes: Offensive, Warfare, and Skirmish. Wondering what each mode offers, and is the perfect one for you? Well, here’s a complete breakdown of everything you need to know.
Offensive Mode
Offensive Mode in Hell Let Loose pushes two teams against each other: attackers and defenders. At the start, it’s the defenders who will have control of all the sectors, while the attacking team is given 30 minutes to capture the first one. If they manage to do so, an additional 30 minutes will be added to the clock, and defenders must fall back to the next sector.
Attackers can win by capturing every sector on the map. However, defenders can get the victory by holding any single sector for the full 30-minute duration. If the timer runs out while attackers are capturing a sector, and they still have manpower, the match will go into overtime. This continues until the attackers take the sector, are wiped out, or pushed off the strongpoint.

Capturing any sector requires controlling the strongpoint, which is marked by a black circle in every sector. Attackers need to be inside this circle to capture, which takes a minute. Once the sector is captured, it can’t be reclaimed by defenders. Attackers begin this game mode with double the manpower, but defenders can use artillery.
Warfare Mode

Warfare is the most popular mode in Hell Let Loose, where two teams go head-to-head to control five key sectors on the map. Depending on the map’s orientation, each sector will have two rows or columns. The goal here is simple: capture all five sectors, or hold the majority of them until the 90-minute timer rounds out.
For capturing a sector, your team must take control of the strongpoint. Standing within the four grid squares surrounding the strongpoint will contribute to the capture, but being inside the sector itself triples the capture strength.
Both teams will kick off the match with two sectors under their control, while the central sector stays neutral. This neutral zone is the first battleground. Once one team captures it, there’s no neutral ground, and each side must push forward while trying to defend what zone they have under control. Both teams will begin the match with the same amount of manpower, ammunition, and fuel resources.
Skirmish Mode

Finally, there’s the recently introduced Skirmish Mode. It’s much shorter and a more focused mode compared to the other ones. The objective here is to capture and hold the sector. However, this time the fight will only revolve around the neutral sector, as it’s the only one with the Capture Point.
Although the game still features 50v50 gameplay, both teams are limited to one armor squad and one recon squad, with no access to artillery. Matches last around 33 minutes, including a 3-minute warm-up for teams to organize themselves. The maps in this mode are also 35% smaller compared to the regular ones.
