Amazon’s Warhammer 40K Show Should Make Henry Cavill Fight The Orks Ancestors That Dwarfed Dreadnoughts, Had Technology Far Superior Than the Imperium

Back in December 2022, it was revealed that Henry Cavil had signed on to feature in and executive produce a TV series based on Games Workshop’s iconic Warhammer 40k franchise for Amazon Prime Video.

Other than the creative hurdles, we haven’t heard much about the project since the initial announcement. It’s still not clear what direction the story might take or who our heroes will fend off. However, if this project wants to reach the same heights as the Fallout TV show, it must feature one of the greatest forces in the Warhammer 40k universe, the Ork ancestors, Krok.

Kroks Could Raise the Tension in Henry Cavill’s Warhammer 40k Show

If you’re unaware, in the universe of Warhammer 40k, the Kroks are believed to be the ancestors of the Ork species. The Kroks existed during the War in Heaven, which was a massive conflict between the One Ones and Necros millions of years ago.

The Old Ones specifically engineered Kroks to help them aid in the war, and they were more powerful and larger than the Orks we see today. Not only that, but Kroks also held technology that outclassed everything crafted by the Imperium. They were capable of creating and wielding powerful weaponry and machinery on a large scale.

As centuries went by and things changed in the galaxy, the Kroks eventually devolved, leading to the Orks we are familiar with in the Warhammer 40k universe. Evidence suggests that modern Orks still retain many of Krok’s features, including their battlefield skills and aggression.

Under suitable situations, the resurgence of Kroks in the galaxy can happen. As of now, Ghazghkull stands as the closest approximation to ancient Kroks and towers to the scale of an Imperial Dreadnaught. If Kroks rise again, they can steamroll their way through anything that stands in their way.

Instead of focussing on already-established enemies in the Warhammer 40k universe, Henry Cavill and his show can put a spotlight on the origins of Kroks and their revival. We still don’t know much about these ancient forces, but one thing is clear: they’re a force to be reckoned with and can pose a severe challenge to the Imperium.

Forcing Imperium, Orks, and Elders to stand against a shared past would raise the stakes even higher and would allow the Amazon TV show to flesh out the Warhammer 40k universe in ways we’ve never seen before. Let’s hope Cavill and his team can recognize Kroks’ terrifying potential.

There’s no doubt that, as fans, we’ve been eagerly waiting for the realization of a TV series with Cavill leading the charge. However, the recent statements by the franchises’ creator, Games Workshop, have completely taken everyone by surprise.

In its financial report, Games Workshop revealed that the ambitious crossover with Amazon Studios comes down to a crucial agreement over so-called “creative guidelines,” which must be settled by December 2024.

The partnership lets Amazon hold the rights to creative television series and other aspects within the Warhammer 40k universe. There’s even an option for the giant to get equivalent rights to the Warhammer 40k universe, depending upon the success of the TV series.

Back in December 2023, Games Workshop stated that there was a one-year period agreed upon to settle all creative details with Amazon. The partnership between both companies will only head forward if the creative guidelines are mutually agreed upon.

However, this process still hasn’t happened, which has left the entire Warhammer 40k TV adaptation in limbo, with just three months left to finalize everything.

As we approach the deadline, the pressure is on Amazon and Games Workshop to work together and bring the iconic series to life on the big screen.

With that said, do you think the Warhammer 40k TV series should feature any other enemy? Let us know in the comments below.
