Ange’s Spurs rebound with crushing 4-1 win over Hammers

Tottenham have scored three times in eight minutes in a 4-1 home win over West Ham in the Premier League to put a smile back on coach Ange Postecoglou’s face.

Spurs, who had thrown away a 2-0 lead before succumbing to a calamitous defeat against Brighton in their previous match, went behind to an 18th minute goal from Mohammed Kudus on Saturday at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but powered back with a brilliant second-half performance.

Dejan Kulusevski levelled the game in the 36th minute and after the break the home team took control.

Yves Bissouma struck in the 52nd minute before and Alphonse Areola scored an own goal three minutes later, with skipper Son Heung-min adding a fourth on the hour mark.

West Ham were reduced to 10 men in the 86th minute when Kudus was sent off for pushing Micky van de Ven in an angry confrontation.

It proved another poor afternoon for the Hammers’ Spanish boss Julen Lopetegui, with his new side languishing in 14th place.
