Arrowhead Considering Nerfing the Best Helldivers 2 Weapon in Next Patch Update

Arrowhead Game Studios is working day and night to make sure gamers are getting the most out of Helldivers 2. This latest Sony first-party game has turned out to be quite a success. Fans cannot stop playing it, and the buzz that it has created is making sure the game only grows in size and popularity.

But just like any other online multiplayer-heavy game, Helldivers 2 is also struggling with a bunch of issues. This requires the developers to intervene every now and then to make sure things keep going smoothly. They are planning to do it again now by nerfing one of the best weapons in Helldivers 2.

As a massive co-op third-person shooter, Helldivers 2 has it all. It has the best levels to fight in. It has some of the most brutal enemies to fight, and it has a number of weapons that feel excellent to use. There’s no shortage of fun to be had in Helldivers 2.

As players spend hours participating in this galactic war against numerous enemies, some of whom are brutal robots and others are insanely dangerous armored bugs, they get to use different types of weapons. From SMGs to assault rifles and snipers to shotguns, there is no shortage of slugs in this game. And it’s only natural for some of these weapons to become their favorites.

This only happens when players are head-over-heels in love with it. And there’s only one reason for this kind of attachment: maybe that weapon is way too powerful. Maybe they are able to take down enemies using that weapon in a single shot. This sounds exciting, and for those who intersected, a similar weapon does exist in Helldivers 2.

This weapon is called Breaker Shotgun, and it is reportedly wreaking havoc in Helldivers 2. Fans saw some gamers scoring instant kills with this weapon, and when they could not take it, they decided to contact Arrowhead Game Studios’ CEO on Twitter. A tweet asked, “Obviously, there are more pressing issues but I feel like there needs to be some primary weapon balancing done at some point. The smg, breaker shotgun, and starting assault rifle seem to be the only guns worth using and the breaker is the best by far.”

This complaint is not just about some weapons being more powerful; it’s also about some of them being underpowered. And to no one’s surprise, Arrowhead Game Studios’ CEO, Johan Pilestedt, did reply, and he said a couple of things, but most importantly, he confirmed that the developers are looking at this issue.

He also suggested that if Breaker shotgun scores more kills, it still does not mean much. This is what he said: “We are looking at data and doing a balance patch – you would be surprised to learn that while the breaker scores more kills. It is not overrepresented in missions that end in success….”

It looks like those using the Breaker Shotgun need to brace for impact, as their favorite gun might start performing a little worse in the future. Let’s see where Arrowhead takes these matters.

The team at Arrowhead Game Studios is no doubt doing an incredible job fixing their game and pushing it towards greatness. Everything they do, from fixing all of its problems to making sure players do not have to wait in line for long, has successfully fixed all the issues.

They are really earning their keep here. Fans can hope that with such dedication, Helldivers 2 will only grow to be able to stand beside the bigwigs like Fortnite and Destiny 2.
