As a Monster Hunter x Transformers Toy Is Announced, We Wonder What a Proper In-game Crossover Could Look Like

With Monster Hunter and Transformers celebrating their 20th and 40th anniversary, respectively, the fan bases have been pretty excited about what the two franchises have in store for them.

So far, Takara Tomy has teased an admittedly cool Transformers x Monster Hunter line coming in 2025. With the history of the insane collaborations in gaming, it’s difficult not to wonder what an in-game collaboration of the two franchises might look like.

Fighting Beast Machines in Monster Hunter Would Be a Dream Come True for Many Fans

With Monster Hunter Wilds stunning players with its Gamescom 2024 showcases, the series and its fans are riding the high wave, with most now more excited than ever to see what awaits them next year.

Perhaps as a cherry on top, Transformers, one of the few franchises under the sun that hasn’t yet collaborated with Monster Hunter, will do exactly that in 2025 to celebrate their respective anniversaries.

Now, from what the teasers have shown, it may be a toy collaboration. But, it goes without saying that having Optimal Primal fighting the way of Rajang or having a Transmetal 2 Megatron coming in as Crimson Fatalis, spewing the flames of ruin everywhere with us swooping in for a fight would simply be an unbelievable sight most would want to see.

Simply imagine Megatron as Deviljho fighting a Rajang-powered Optimus Primal. Not only that, but we players get to wear their regular forms as Layered Armor. Keeping these ideas in mind, it’s clear that this is a collaboration made in heaven – what’s left is to see whether we get something even crazier and in-game than the Takara Tomy crossover.

The Franchise Is No Stranger to Crazy Collabs and Crossovers

From Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure to Pizza Hut, there is simply no genre or medium of entertainment that the developer has yet to reach out to for a Monster Hunter Collaboration. Although Rise was relatively light and more in-house focused on its collaborations, there is a high chance that we may see some crazy crossovers in Wilds.

After all, Wilds is likely going to be the only series experience for this generation and will be supported for years to come. What better way to do so than to have Transformers, a few more Machines from Horizon, or Geralt and Siri make their way to The Forbidden Lands?

We may also see a few silent crossovers similar to Safi’jiiva and Grigori from Dragon’s Dogma, but that’s entering the tinfoil hat territory at this point. Still, with all the new things coming in Wilds, it may be pretty close to being a reality.

The bottom line is that there’s no doubt that Wilds will undoubtedly feature some of the best collaborations in all of gaming, and if Capcom sticks the landing, it may just go down as not only one of the best in the series but one of the greatest games of all time.

With that said, what are your thoughts on the Takara Tomy collaboration? Would you like to see this collaboration extended to Wilds in-game? Let us know in the comments below.
