Assassin’s Creed Shadows May Have the Most Expensive (and Coolest) Special Edition Ever

Ubisoft and PureArts have collaborated to drop some pure drip for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Right now, you can go and get yourself a 1/1 scale replica of in-game Yasuke’s helmet.

All you need to do is drop $749 for it, in case you have that lying around. One Redditor certainly doesn’t. Finding the price quite absurd, they have some strong words to share about it.

Making collecting your hobby is signing yourself up to forever sacrifice your wallet for the greater good. The greater good, in this case, is spending money on showpieces that may not have any practical use, but damn do they look great on your shelf.

In anticipation of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft and PureArts have released a 1/1 replica of Yasuke’s helmet for the low price of $749, and one Redditor is in complete disbelief.

The title of OP’s post, “This is crazy and not in a good way,” summarizes their thoughts pretty well. They’re shocked it costs more than twice the price of the Collector’s Edition.

OP admits to buying the $100 Hidden Blade merch, but the helmet is too pricey, even for them.

They do feel that the blade should’ve been included in the Assassin’s Creed Shadows Collector’s Edition in the first place, as games “in the good ol’ days” typically included physical merch like this.

OP also hilariously states that, for the price, the helmet better be able to tank a bullet.

Yasuke’s Helmet Being Expensive Is a Non-issue

The game has gotten itself into a lot of controversy, but this might not be as big as it seems. A helmet being $749 is no doubt out of the budget for a majority of people, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t exist, according to a few. The audience for these types of items is just different.

A reply mentions that the Assassin’s Creed Shadows helmet is still cheaper than some other Collector’s items. While it is expensive, they feel it’s not unfair.

One of the commenters mentions they think the helmet looks very dope. They personally have made a $800 purchase for an Ezio statue from PureArts, so they can’t judge the issue fairly.

That being said, even they have to admit that it is indeed very highly-priced. OP quickly clarifies that even they like the helmet, but not for $750.

The topic of collecting exclusive merchandise and the appropriate pricing for them will never really come to an end.

It’s not just on the gaming side. Take a look at any hobby and you’ll see people ready to spend hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on something that may look completely insignificant to you, but important to them.
