Astro Bot: Wormy Passage Collectible Locations

Wormy Passage, one of the Tentacle System’s 10 levels, is brimming with collectibles and offers a straightforward yet highly enjoyable experience. One of the standout features of this level in Astro Bot is its numerous references to one of PlayStation’s most successful franchises, The Last of Us, created by Naughty Dog.

This level, like all others, has 10 collectibles to find until the end. These collectibles are composed of seven different bots and three puzzle pieces. This is a guide to help you collect everything in Wormy Passage.

Bot 1 (Ellie Bot)

As mentioned earlier, this level is full of The Last of Us references, starting with the first bot you can rescue. After landing, you’ll get the gloves for punching.

This is the third time you can use this ability in Astro Bot, and with more levels to come, it will be useful. After obtaining the gloves, turn left before entering the cave, where you will find Ellie joyfully strumming her guitar. Punch her, and you’ll save her.

Once you’ve rescued Ellie, you can enter the cave and officially start the level with the first checkpoint. After jumping across a few platforms, you’ll encounter a bomb-throwing cactus.

Defeat it, grab the checkpoint, and head to the right. Strike the crystal multiple times until it breaks completely. Once broken, the first of the three puzzle pieces will appear—one of the Wormy Passage collectibles.

Bot 2

In the same area, before moving forward, head left, and you’ll see a small platform to jump on with a giant mushroom that moves when you hit it. Beyond the mushroom and to the right, past some coin boxes, lies another bot awaiting your rescue.

You’ll need to hit the mushroom from a specific angle to reach everything behind it, which will not only give you coins but also allow you to rescue this second bot of the seven total in this level of Astro Bot.

Bot 3

Continuing along the normal path, you’ll face another bomb-throwing cactus. After defeating it, before heading right, you’ll see a giant, happy, dancing mushroom waving what looks like arms.

Upon closer inspection, you’ll notice that one of those arms is cradling a frightened bot, eagerly awaiting rescue. To rescue the bot, just get close and punch it once. It will jump down automatically.

Bot 4 (Joel Bot)

Continuing through the level, after jumping past the dancing mushroom, you’ll reach a checkpoint where you can choose between two paths. One path features moving platforms that you must quickly grab, while the other path features spiked cactus that you must punch to destroy.

After breaking the two cactus and jumping onto their platforms, you’ll reach the final one. There, you’ll need to punch an enemy to inflate it and make it explode. Joel bot from The Last of Us will emerge, prepared for your rescue, once the enemy explodes. The developers made a brilliant choice by including these references to The Last of Us in this mushroom-themed level.

Bot 5

Continuing along the previous path where you had to grab the moving platforms, after defeating a few enemies and reaching a checkpoint, a wall will open up, revealing a giant trampoline.

If you jump on this trampoline, you’ll notice two spots that appear to be breakable by punching. At the bottom, there will be a couple of coins, but in the right corner of that same area, you’ll find the fifth bot among the collectibles in Wormy Passage.

Bot 6 (Fungus Bot)

In keeping with The Last of Us references, after rescuing the fifth bot, use the trampoline to climb up, grab the checkpoint, and head left to find the sixth of the seven bots in this level.

Before you can rescue it, you’ll need to defeat a worm-like enemy. Quickly, among the mushrooms, you’ll encounter the Fungus bot, a classic enemy from the Naughty Dog series, well-represented in Astro Bot.

Puzzle Piece 2

On the right, you will find the second of the three puzzle pieces in Wormy Passage, which is located in the same area as the Fungus bot. Here, you’ll need to make a quick decision.

As soon as you grab any collectibles, the game saves them, so you can either jump and die to grab the puzzle piece quickly or take a more orderly approach by pressing a button on the right to fill the area with water, preventing impalement upon falling. If you choose the smarter route, you can swim and grab the puzzle piece without dying, plus get a few coins along the way.

Bot 7

After filling the area with water, you’ll continue on until you’re almost at the end of the level. Due to a scripted moment in the level, you’ll find yourself inside the belly of a giant worm.

Once you’re in this area and hit the checkpoint, the worm’s stomach will start filling with gastric juice, and you’ll need to quickly climb upwards. As soon as you begin this climb, you’ll find the seventh and final bot for this level.

Continuing the fast-paced climb, you’ll need to dodge a few enemies and avoid the gastric juice as you jump, hook onto various platforms, and use trampolines.

At one point, on one of the platforms inside the worm’s stomach, you’ll spot the final puzzle piece on the left side of the belly. After grabbing it, keep climbing quickly to escape through the worm’s mouth and finish the level with all the collectibles.
