Balloon Glow takes off Aug. 16 in Manitowoc’s downtown, bringing water ski show, aerial dancers and much more

MANITOWOC – Lakeshore Balloon Glow returns to downtown Manitowoc Aug. 16.

The free, family-friendly event features colorful hot air balloons that glow along Manitowoc’s riverfront.

Entertainment will include the Webfooters Water Ski Show, aerial dancers and a variety of children’s activities like bounce houses, face painting, Mischief and Magic performances, story time, a traveling snake show, and a chance to meet Miss Wisconsin 2024 Mandi Genord.

The event is set for 5-9 p.m. Aug. 16. The Balloon Glow takes place on both sides of the Manitowoc River, in and around the parking lot at 720 Quay St. and the Manitowoc Public Library’s parking lot and also at Shipbuilders Park.

Things to do this week: Adult Pool Party at Aquatic Center, Kiwanis Car Show and more events

Food trucks will be on hand and the Manitowoc Lions Club will sell corn on the cob. Beer, soda and water will be available for sale. The night will include a fireworks show at 8:30 p.m.

A free shuttle service will be provided 4:45-9 p.m. from three remote parking areas including: Lincoln High School JFK Field House parking lot, Roncalli High School parking lot and Faith Church parking lot.

The shuttle will stop at each location every half hour, and the last shuttle from the event will leave at 9 p.m. The drop-off and pick-up zone at the event is on Eighth Street near Manitowoc Public Library.
