Behaviour Interactive Shuts Down Midwinter Entertainment

After Project T was cancelled due to poor reception, Behaviour Interactive has seemingly shut down the studio developing the game as well. According to multiple posts online, Midwinter Entertainment has been closed by Behaviour Interactive.

News started to appear on LinkedIn shortly after it was announced that Project T was no more.

“My studio abruptly closed today,” lead game designer Gregory Marques posted. “Midwinter was a great place to work with some amazing people. I’ll miss it.”

“Sadly, after nearly 7 years my time with Midwinter Entertainment has come to an abrupt end due to the studio closure,” posted animation and art lead Daniel Alexander.

Another former employee, Eli Hanson, had praise for who he worked with at Midwinter while also questioning the decision made by Behaviour Interactive to cancel Project T.

“One of the crazy things is that in the most recent playtest we got a 92/100 score in fun and playability—and it is being sold that the game was not liked by the players,” they said in what appears to be a deleted post that was seen by Game Developer.

The shutdown effects at least 35 people. As of publishing, there have been nearly 13,000 jobs lost across more than 135 companies in the games industry in 2024.

In the company’s statement about Project T’s cancellation, Behaviour Interactive made no mention of the what would happen to Midwinter. Insider Gaming has reached out to Behaviour Interactive for comment.

Midwinter was founded in 2016, and was acquired by Behaviour Interactive in 2022.
