Fantasy games are one of the most popular genres in the world of gaming, and soon they will include the upcoming horror title The Axis Unseen. Despite that fact, the majority of fantasy games are infested with RPG settings. Be it Elden Ring, Baldur’s Gate, Elder Scrolls, or Dragon Age, it’s all about role-playing action.

This fantasy action-adventure title is not going to be like any other fantasy RPG. However, The Axis Unseen holds uncanny similarities with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim but obviously has some unique aspects.

Is The Axis Unseen an RPG Title?

The Axis Unseen is at its early stage of development right now, so there is no official confirmation yet when the game is going to be released.

In this survival horror hunting game, you have to fill up the shoes of a tracker with bows and arrows, along with your critical senses. This might sound similar to Skyrim‘s stealth archer, but it’s absolutely not. The indie developer of this game, Nate Purkeypile, has spent 14 years at Bethesda before going solo. So, that explains the similarity of this game with Skyrim.

However, it’s undeniable that this game is completely on a different page from that of other RPGs. Yes, it does contain RPG mechanics as well, and as a fantasy title, it’s quite natural. But we have to admit that these mechanics are quite different than those in conventional RPGs. For instance, the HUDs on the main game screen are very small to give you a better gameplay experience and allow you to enjoy the immersive atmosphere.

The Axis Unseen: Story and Gameplay

You are going to be tracking and hunting wild creatures on your way. Keep in mind that these wild creatures are of Bigfoot, Mothman, and Loch Ness Monster stature.

The bow glows whenever it seeks an upgrade. Yeah, yeah, this looks familiar to Skyrim fans in the form of Standing Stones. Also, this glow helps you track the nearest animals.

The tracker has spent years in the woods to develop his supreme precision in archery along with his supernatural senses in the midst of a hunt. Rather than point-click-shoot mechanics, this game features point-draw-steady-release-style mechanics.

As previously mentioned, due to minimalistic HUD scales, you won’t be seeing the number of arrows left on your game screen. So, you can pull your quiver over and take a look.
