BioWare shares details on Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s first patch

BioWare has revealed some of the changes that will be introduced with the first Dragon Age: The Veilguard patch.

Launching this week for all platforms, the update promises “some bug fixes, minor balance changes, and some crash mitigations”.

Ahead of the release of the full patch notes, BioWare said the update will include the following:

  • Fixed an issue where some customizations were not applied to the Inquisitor correctly in one scene.
  • Fixed an issue where DLSS options could end up “grayed-out” on a 40-series Nvidia GPU. (PC only)
  • Fixed an issue that caused Companion Skill Points to reset.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard was released last week for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

VGC’s 3/5 star review said the fantasy RPG feels like it doesn’t take enough gameplay risks.

“Dragon Age: The Veilguard feels like BioWare playing it too safe,” we wrote. “While it nails what it does best, like the excellent cast and interpersonal relationships, from a gameplay perspective it feels out of date.”

With no plans to develop Dragon Age: The Veilguard expansions, BioWare’s full focus has now shifted to the next Mass Effect game.

However, the studio has cautioned Mass Effect fans not to get too excited about its plans for N7 Day on November 7.

BioWare established N7 Day in 2012 and it has since become a yearly celebration of the Mass Effect series and its community.

“We hope everyone is enjoying their time in Dragon Age: The Veilguard,” it said this week. “It’s only a few days until #N7Day and this year will be quieter because of launch. Be sure to check back then for a little fun, though!”
