In a recent interview with Variety, Tyler Bahl, the chief marketing officer at Activision, explained the marketing strategy for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. He made it clear that sales isn’t the only target,

Obviously, we want to generate sales, but I think overall, just awareness of the new game coming out – That’s always a focus, making ‘Black Ops 6’ the No. 1 game this fall.

It’s clear that Microsoft is putting a lot of trust into Activision this time. Judging by all the hype for the game, it is safe to say that the marketing strategy for Black Ops 6 has been working, but only if they market the Xbox Game Pass advantage in a better way. It will certainly set the Call of Duty franchise for a very strong comeback.
