Black Ops 6 Has Such Heavily Over-optimized Omnimovement That Fans are Complaining Old School Map Knowledge is Suffering

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has recently been released. After the completion of the Modern Warfare trilogy, now it’s time for COD to pick from where it left off in Call of Duty: Cold War. Whenever a new COD title surfaces in the market, nostalgia hits pretty hard.

However, there is one unique feature that is literally killing the classic Call of Duty vibe. Because of the new movement mechanic in the game, the decade-long COD experience is of no use now. It seems, the old players have to adapt to a new game, which doesn’t feel like their beloved franchise.

Omni-movement in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is going to be unique in a certain aspect, and it’s the very first time in the franchise ever that the game has got an overhauled movement mechanics. This new mechanic is called Omni-movement. So, actually, what is this?

This brand-new movement mechanic allows you to sprint, slide, dive, or go prone in any direction, no matter which direction you want to go, even backward as well. Not only that, you will also be able to slide in the direction you jumped in when landing from a jump. So, basically, you can move literally however you want.

For example, with this new movement style, you can make your own movement combos to dodge the bullets of your enemies, like quick back paddles, fast side strafes, or successive jumps, slides, and jumps that too in different directions each time.

Old School Map Experience is Not Enough in the Era of Omni-Movement

Map experience in any game is an essential component for success. The more you have in-depth knowledge about the map you are playing in, the more you have an edge over the loopholes and chokepoints. However, with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, that is not the case.

A fan on Reddit has vented out his frustration about the Omni-movement feature in the game. If you know the spawn points in the maps, you can predict the probable position of the enemies so that you can pick an angle to secure that. But with the presence of Omni-movement, players can be anywhere now.

With the new movement mechanics, players have become ultra-fast and can change their locations in the blink of an eye, that too in longer distances. Also, in previous Call of Duty titles, you could dictate the potential timing of enemy engagement.

But as players are now fast, you might have to face random fights with your enemies. As per the fan, the new game is all about “mindless running around, and you just have to expect to get slide cancel bunny hop peeked around every corner.”
