With the upcoming release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on October 25th, gamers around the world have been keeping their eyes on anything Call of Duty-related to ensure they don’t miss out on anything passing them by.

According to a recent post on Twitter/X by CharlieIntel an update was made to the Call of Duty app, in which it shows that the file sizes for Warzone will finally be shrank down.

At the moment, the only information that has been revealed is regarding the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of the game, in which the PlayStation 4 version will shrink from 82GB to 67GB, whereas the PlayStation 5 version will shrink from 174GB to 73GB.
This is a massive change in terms of file size for console players, as this is one of the main reasons most players avoid the title, as it causes them to either delete the game to create space or to have the game downloaded with next to no other titles.
Unfortunately, we have no concrete idea of when this update will finally come into being, but there are theories that this update will arrive for the upcoming Black Ops 6 Beta, as it will be changing the game to use the new engine and mechanics.
This Could Be the Change That Warzone Needs to Get it Back on Its Feet
Call of Duty as a franchise has been struggling over the past few years, as there has been plenty of backlash relating to its recent titles. The most notable and recent would be Modern Warfare 3, which has only recently begun to dig its way out of the mud.
Now that the update will finally provide players with space on their hard drives, as well as better mechanics, a new game engine, and so much more, there is a chance Call of Duty might make a comeback.
However, there are still plenty of issues that need to be worked on, which could finally provide players with potentially one of the best Warzone experiences to date.
Unfortunately, until we see this new update in action, there is no knowing when it will actually become available or if other platforms will receive a similar change in file size, but it is highly likely that a statement will be made relatively soon due to this information now making its way into the public eye.
What do you think about Warzone finally reducing its file size? Are you looking forward to downloading multiple games on your console after this change? Let us know in the comments what you think!
