Launched in 2015 as a PlayStation 4 exclusive, Bloodborne is considered to be the ultimate game by developer FromSoftware. The title’s gothic horror elements and Lovecraftian features were a steep departure from the medieval setting of the iconic Dark Souls series, resonating incredibly well with the gamers.

However, the game’s 30 fps framerate cap and PlayStation exclusivity stuck out like a sore thumb for many Bloodborne fans, which is why pleas for a remaster and debut on Microsoft’s console started ballooning since the launch of PS5. It’s still unclear what Sony would end up doing with the IP, but if Bloodborne truly wants to debut on Xbox, it must follow Hideo Kojima’s strategy with Death Stranding.

Bloodborne Must Learn From Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding

Even though Death Standing is the brainchild of renowned director Hideo Kojima and his studio, Kojima Productions, the game’s creation wouldn’t have been possible without Sony. Not only did the Japanese company help set up Kojima Productions, but it also shared the Decima Engine with the studio to craft Death Stranding.

You’d think that Sony’s involvement in such a project would mean that it would never see the light of day on other platforms, just like Bloodborne. However, Kojima Productions has shocked the entire industry by launching Death Stranding Director’s Cut for Xbox Series S/X and Amazon Luna. This comes exactly five years after its debut as a PS4 exclusive.

Not only that, but Kojima Products has also announced that the Death Standing IP now fully belongs to the studio itself. It claims that it will connect more fans around the world in other forms of entertainment as well.

By taking full control of its creation, Kojima Productions isn’t limiting itself to working with Sony or any other platform. It’s a clever strategy to help the game reach even more players and something that FromSoftware should consider if it ever wants to debut its iconic game on Xbox and PC.

Many players are delighted to see that Kojima has broken himself out of the exclusivity market with his clever tactics.

With Kojima now owning the IP, there’s a chance that he could bring the game to the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 as well, considering its upgraded hardware capabilities.

Death Stranding‘s release on Xbox is certainly a huge victory for the gaming community. However, it’s still unclear how the upcoming Death Stranding 2: On The Beach‘s platform availability will be affected in the long run, as it’s going to be released next year on PS5.

Bloodborne PC’s Port is Right Around The Corner

It’s almost been a decade since the release of Bloodborne, and the game still hasn’t seen a remaster or port like other Sony games in recent years. However, few in the community grew tired of Sony’s shenanigans and took it upon themselves to bring the game to PC.

Back in July, one modder began working on an emulator called ShadPS4 and revealed that Bloodborne will be playable on it. The modder had already managed to get the game’s title screen running on PC, and a few weeks later, it was in a playable state.

The community made big moves towards bringing the Souslike game to a playable state. We saw the addition of various mods, which enhanced the game’s unofficial port. One member of the community even managed to finish the start from the start to the end without facing any difficulties.

The unofficial port is still in development and not as smooth as the PS4 version. However, this is a major step towards getting the game on PC if Sony has no intentions of doing it itself. It’s going to be interesting to see how well the PC port performs once it fully debuts.
