Bloody hammer fight leaves two people injured in SC. One suspect not yet arrested

A four-person fight led to two people being hit in the head with a hammer near a boat ramp in Horry County, a police report said.

Trevor Chadwell, one of the suspects, was arrested by Horry County Police for third-degree assault and battery on Saturday. He is accused of hitting one of the victims after he was hit in the head with the hammer and was on the ground, an arrest warrant said.

That suspect who hit the victims with the hammer has not been arrested as of Monday afternoon.

Chadwell got into an argument with one of the victims at Punch Bowl Landing, 7099 Punch Bowl Road, Conway, around 3 a.m. on Saturday, according to police. The second victim went to break up the fight when an unnamed suspect got out of the car and went up to the second victim.

The suspect hit her in the head with a hammer twice, once with the flat side and once with the claw side. She started bleeding profusely. The suspect then went to the first victim and hit him in the back of the head with a hammer. Chadwell began to punch the first victim, which caused his ears to ring.

The two victims got in a car and went to the hospital, with one of them scared they wouldn’t make it. She said she was feeling light-headed and weak, according to the report.

The second suspect has not yet been arrested. Chadwell got out of jail on Monday after paying a $500 bail.
