Blumhouse Is Invading The Hotel That Inspired The Shining For An Immersive Horror Experience

Five decades ago, Stephen King’s stay in the Stanley Hotel inspired his novel, The Shining. And this year, the Stanley Hotel is offering guests a new Overnightmare experience that’s sponsored by Blumhouse and Peacock.

From October 18 to October 20, fans who are willing to make the trek to Estes Park, Colorado can book a Blumhouse-themed weekend with interactive experiences based on four of the studio’s films: Insidious, The Purge, Freaky, and Happy Death Day. According to the official description, a “conci-scare-ge” will be at the disposal of guests as they check in for a two-night stay in a double-occupancy room that has been re-themed for the occasion.

In addition to “one scare experience,” the hotel is also offering photo opportunities, interactive moments, free screenings of Blumhouse films and the upcoming Peacock original series, Teacup, as well as a complementary welcome dinner, two complementary drinks per guest, and a $100 credit towards the hotel’s in-house restaurant, Brunch & Co.

More information about booking the experience can be found on the Stanley Hotel’s official site. But if you want to hold out for a Shining-themed event, The Shining Ball will be held at the Stanley Hotel on October 26.
