Call of Duty 2026 & 2027 Info Leaked, It’s Claimed

On Twitter, two dataminers collaborated to share information regarding Call of Duty’s 2026 and 2027 releases. In a post published recently, it was claimed that Call of Duty 2026 is in development under the name ‘Project Devilwood’ and will be a game set in the Ghosts timeline and created by Infinity Ward. It was then said that Call of Duty 2027 will be a Sledgehammer Games title and will be a follow-up to 2014’s Advanced Warfare.

These details that emerged recently are yet to be corroborated, and like all datamined content, the references are subject to change – especially as ‘Project Anvil’, the claimed Advanced Warfare follow-up, won’t be delivered until 2027.

If this data is accurate, it means that we’re not going to get our hands on a Modern Warfare 4 until at least 2028 – if at all. It’s no big secret that Modern Warfare 3 wasn’t the biggest hit with the community, despite the game doing well commercially. The game’s campaign was dramatically short but it left a lot of loose ends that would lead perfectly to a follow-up title, so it’s highly likely it’ll be revisited.

In the post on Twitter, VISCERAL and Vondyispog claimed that a Ghosts and an Advanced Warfare game are in development as we speak. Call of Duty Ghosts was a 2013 near-future title that was a ‘one and done’ game that many players have longed to go back to. Similarly, Advanced Warfare was a one-shot game that featured high-octane, fast-paced, exosuit-powered combat mechanics that many Call of Duty fans would like to see make a return.

Are you eager to see these games return, or would you rather they remained dead and buried?
