Capcom’s Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Teaser Flops Hard as Fans Wonder Why They’ve Changed 1 Irreplaceable Character

There’s no doubt that Capcom has managed to establish itself as one of the best in the business when it comes to remasters and remakes. Over the years, the studio has revisited some of the popular titles, such as Resident Evil and Phoenix Wright, and given them an incredible remake treatment.

Out of nowhere today, Capcom has revealed that its popular game Dead Rising is soon getting a re-release for modern consoles dubbed as “Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster.” While this initially excited the gaming community, fans are now incredibly disappointed as they can’t comprehend why Capcom decided to change Frank West’s character!

Capcom’s zombie-slaying title, Dead Rising has been MIA for quite some time now, but it’s making a surprising comeback with a remaster. It certainly looks to be a thorough visual upgrade, but the teaser hasn’t exactly gone down well with the community.

One of the most striking aspects of the teaser was Frank West’s character. Gamers are frustrated with Capcom’s decisions for the character in the upcoming remake and feel like the developers have downgraded him in many ways.

It’s not just that West looks different in the Deluxe Remaster; we also get to hear a bit of voice, which sadly doesn’t see the return of TJ Rotolo. It’s not clear why Capcom has decided to change Frank’s voice actor.

Capcom’s bizarre decision-making for West in the remaster definitely alarmed gamers who were hoping the game would stick to the original title’s roots. Let’s hope the developers learn from the reception and make some adjustments to West before the game releases.

Aside from the cinematic look of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, the teaser didn’t really give us much aside from the news of the remaster in general. Of course, West takes center stage once more, the protagonist who makes an appearance in the trailer. However, nothing was revealed about any new features or content that could be coming.

Capcom hasn’t given a release date for Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster either. From the way the teaser is framed, it seems like the game will be released at some point in 2024.

Fortunately, the developers have promised that they’ll soon reveal more, and we’ll get more looks at Gamescom or at The Games Award.
