Captain America’s Marvel Rivals Skin is an Incredible-Looking Avengers: Endgame ‘What If’

Marvel Rivals is an upcoming online multiplayer game featuring iconic heroes and villains from the Marvel brand. The gaming community has high hopes for this ambitious project and is eager to see how the developers will adapt certain storylines inspired by various iterations and the source material.

The developers hosted closed beta tests for a handful of players and the response and feedback have been mostly positive. However, the game developers have their hands full working on the beta, it became easier for leaks to seep through the cracks of their security and reveal one iconic Avenger joining the roster.

The Developers of Marvel Rivals Cannot Catch a Break From Leaks

It is an exciting time for Marvel Games as the company finally found its footing in the game industry. Unfortunately, the gaming community is not too enthusiastic with the current state of the beta phase given how other characters are too underpowered and some are way too overpowered Magneto being on par with the Hulk is not ideal for the balancing and scaling in Marvel Rivals.

Regardless of the technical issues, the developers have shown potential for the game’s longevity. The developers are occupied with keeping up with the feedback and observations of the community which makes it easier for confidential information like character reveals to leak online and it may not have been ideal for the developers, the design of the First Avenger resonated well with the fans.

Character designs for the game have been on point so far, and the gaming community was blown away by the menacing design of Doctor Doom during the reveal at San Diego Comic-Con. The developers prioritized the look of the characters, however, they did not rely on one particular source of inspiration and made them stand out from other iterations.

Steve Rogers’ version as the Star Spangled Man with a Plan was last seen in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame in the climactic battle against Thanos during the Battle of Earth. It was arguably one of his best suits across all of his appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, unfortunately, it was short-lived.

The developers need to provide other customization features in an online multiplayer game. The gaming community will select their favorite characters like Earth’s Mightiest Heroes with the mindset of standing out from the competition through cosmetic items and alternate designs.

The gaming community anticipated that more popular characters like Spider-Man would receive the most attention for cosmetics. There is genuine concern that the developers might release a new skin every once in a while to be used as a mode for monetizing the game.

There is no shortage of alternate outfits in the life of a superhero. The Multiverse Saga introduced the concept of alternate realities as seen in Marvel Animation’s What If…? where countless superheroes’ lives were altered and did not follow through the intended course.

Video games are a great way to showcase alternate looks for characters. Game developers like Insomniac Games and NetEase Games made the most of it and made the characters unique while honoring older iterations and delivering something original and familiar.
