Chinese restaurant in Pittsburgh damaged in overnight fire

A Pittsburgh restaurant was damaged in an overnight fire Sunday.

The fire broke out at Wai Wai, a Chinese restaurant along Murray Avenue in Greenfield.

No one was hurt in the fire.

A consumer alert for the restaurant was posted to the Allegheny County Health Department’s website two days before the fire.

Violations included inadequate employee personal hygiene, poor cleaning and sanitization, inadequate pest management and cross-contamination.

Channel 11 is working to get an update on the status of the investigation.
