Christopher Judge Disappoints God of War Fans With His Latest Announcement

Christopher Judge, the voice behind Kratos in the God of War series, has left fans in a doozy. In a recent TikTok livestream, Judge hinted at multiple upcoming announcements, and fans jumped to the conclusion that these reveals would include God of War content.

Judge has since taken to social media to clarify that none of the announcements pertain to “our beloved God of War.” This leaves fans both confused and disappointed but it was probably a reach anyway. There are rumors of the original trilogy getting a remaster so maybe we’ll hear more about that soon.

In his TikTok livestream, Judge hinted at a busy few weeks ahead, promising several announcements. He concluded the stream with Kratos’ iconic catchphrase, “boy,” which is what stoked the fires of speculation.

The next two weeks are going to be chock-full of announcements and all kinds of good stuff. Thank you so much for joining us, and we will talk to you soon, boy.

Some fans believe this could signal a trailer for Amazon’s upcoming Secret Level anthology series, which features Kratos but most people expected it to be a clue to the remaster of the classic games.

Adding to the speculation, Roberto Clemente, an animator at Santa Monica Studio, recently retweeted a post discussing potential God of War-related announcements.

Fans interpreted this as a hint of something brewing behind the scenes. Judge’s follow-up post on X, however, dismissed these theories outright.

Judge’s statement confirmed that his statements were unrelated to the series, though he reassured fans he is just as eager for updates as they are. The community is still hopeful though. We’ll still be happy for updates to Judge’s other known projects, including Dad of War.

Following the massive success of God of War Ragnarok in 2022 and its Valhalla DLC in 2023, anticipation for the next chapter in Kratos and Atreus’ saga has been high. The franchise’s shift to Norse mythology has been a hit for its story and gameplay.

The speculation for God of War content also goes through to Secret Level, the Amazon Prime anthology series. Kratos’ confirmed presence in the series has fans curious about whether Judge will reprise the role.

Despite the excitement, Judge’s response serves as a reminder not to jump to conclusions. Fans liked his respectful way of responding to the rumors, and what he said is true. As one fan said, “Keep your expectations low and you will never be disappointed.”

The next few weeks will likely provide clarity on what Judge is teasing, whether it involves Secret Level, unrelated projects, or entirely new projects. For now, we can only speculate and hope that our favorite Spartan demigod will make his grand return sooner rather than later.

With The Game Awards 2024 just around the corner, all eyes will remain on Judge, Sony Santa Monica, and the God of War franchise. What are you expecting in the upcoming days? Let us know your thoughts!
